Transfer Files Without Downloading

Everytime I change my webhosting, transfer of files from one server to another is one of the most time consuming tasks. We have to first download all the files to our computer and then reupload them to the new server. This process is easy if the size of files on your server is not much but what if the size of files is 2-3 gb?
